Windows Subsystem for Android will be updated in September 2023 (preview).

Microsoft has released version 2308.40000.1.0 of the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) for Windows 11. The update, which is available via the Windows Insider Programme, offers various fixes and adjustments to assist improve Android applications and allow new capabilities on Windows 11.

According to the GitHub announcement, the upgrade includes stability adjustments, localhost loopback networking support, clipboard improvements, ARM-based device enhancements through a new kernel version, and more. 

Changes to the September 2023 WSA update

The following are the changes for WSA version 2308.40000.1.0:

  • Platform dependability improves.
  • Localhost loopback support for the experimental “Local network access” functionality.
  • Improvements to clipboard reliability and performance.
  • Updated kernel to enhance compatibility with ARM apps running on x64 CPUs.
  • When a programme is full screen, correctly report isInMultiWindowMode=false.

The Windows Subsystem for Android upgrade should automatically download and install. You may always manually download it from the Library tab in the Microsoft Store app by tapping the “Get updates” button. You may install WSA on Windows 11 by following these steps.
